【藍營首位】卸任首日拋震撼彈 朱立倫宣布參選2020
國民黨2020總統卡位戰開打！甫卸任新北市長的朱立倫25日表示，「2020將為台灣打拚」，成為藍營眾山頭中，首位公開表態角逐2020者。朱指出，由於黨內還沒進入初選，因此規劃前往全台各地，聆聽在地民眾心聲，挖掘並設法解決台灣遭遇到的問題；他也說，目前也正在籌畫工作室，將與各界保持聯繫。
朱立倫今卸任新北市長，在交接典禮致詞時細數執政8年任內政績，包括三環三線一一實現，道路橋梁等基礎建設陸續完成，產業升級招商引資年年第一，讓市民收入大幅成長，歡樂耶誕城成為市民驕傲，平溪天燈走向國際，萬里蟹帶動地方農漁業。
以及，推動公共托老是100分政策，使得幼兒長者受到更多支持照顧，國民運動中心讓新北躍昇運動城市，實踐在地就學、就養、樂活，使得市民光榮驕傲地說：「新北改變大家都看見，夢想一一實現。」
朱立倫感性表示，8年圓滿畫下句點，衷心感恩祝福市民、市政團隊，也感謝歷任縣長所奠定的基礎，相信在新任市長侯友宜帶領下，新北會更蓬勃發展，侯市長就任第一天就會上手。朱說，接下來會和市民一起呼吸、工作、成長，「希望用新北經驗推展到台灣每一個角落」，讓台灣能夠更平安、充滿希望，大家一起替未來打拚。
朱立倫致詞後全場掌聲、歡呼聲不斷，民眾高喊：「總統好！選總統！」隨後，市府員工夾道歡送朱離開市府，市府一樓大廳被擠爆，市府員工、民眾使勁推擠，將手上花束送給朱、與他合照，並激動尖叫：「選總統！2020凱道見！」也有人高舉「挺立倫轉總統府、一路挺進2020」標語，力挺朱更上一層樓。
短短一分鐘路程，朱立倫走了近15分鐘，最後在夫人高婉倩，以及鮮少在媒體前露面的兒子迎接下離開市府。
